Twas it Brillig?
Twas it Brillig?

Well here we are, December! And sod it to bethany and back, my website isn’t finished but I’m going to shove it online anyway.
Lately I have mostly been working. Pulling absurd amounts of overtime and saving up cash for christmas. I’m not usually one to go along with things like public holidays and frivolous events but Bonfire Night and Christmas are my two exceptions. New Years Eve doesn’t tend to bother me too much, St George’s Day doesn’t seem to bother anybody these days. Talk Like a Pirate day is passing with less and less mention every year... Nobody seems to care about holidays which celebrate our national shared identity anymore, do we even have one anymore? Guy Fawkes we can all enjoy however, the plight of the common fellow trying to ‘stick it to the man’ as it were... yes that’s a world away from what actually happened but that’s the kind of sentiment we can all share and smirk about. In the same spirit we share christmas in the same way, the shared identity being family. I’m not a hugely sentimental person but I’ve always rather liked Christmas. Getting everyone together, having a laugh, enjoying eachothers company, sharing a laugh at the hateful knitwear being worn with pride... It’s just completely brilliant...
So yes, looking forwards to christmas. In the new year I think I’ll try more of this socialising and going out thing which my friends seem to think is all the rage. With all the overtime I’ve been pulling I’ve not really had much of a chance (only myself to blame). Perhaps I’ll meet a nice catholic girl and we can get married and have a million babies... or not. I’m still not entirely sure how I am single after all this time, I’m fairly appealing to look at, I’ve passed my gay M.O.T, I’m not completely unbearable to spend time with... ho-hum, more to work on methinks...
Anyway, won’t ramble anymore ... I have work to be doing...
